Tunnel Plug

A tunnel plug is a butt plug with a hollow centre, designed to keep the anal opening held open during wear. Unlike a standard plug which fills the space, a tunnel plug maintains a gap that passes all the way through. They are used for anal stretching and in contexts where the opening being visibly held open is part of the dynamic. Most are made from silicone, steel, or acrylic and come in a range of diameters.

WHY PEOPLE USE IT

Tunnel plugs are primarily used for anal stretching: training the muscles to relax and accommodate larger diameters over time. The hollow design maintains stretch without the same level of fullness as a solid plug.

The rim and edges must be smooth and rounded with no sharp points. This is more critical than with solid plugs because the edges are in direct contact with tissue.

Start with a smaller diameter than you think you need. The sensation of being held open is different from insertion stretch, and the continuous nature of the stretch means fatigue can build up faster than expected.
