Weighted Plug

A weighted plug is a butt plug with added weight built into or distributed through the toy. Most are made from stainless steel or a steel core inside another material. The extra mass creates a more pronounced feeling of fullness and a downward pull that is noticeable during wear and movement. They are generally used by people who already have some experience with plugs and want a more intense internal sensation.

WHY PEOPLE USE IT

The appeal is the feeling of gravity. A standard plug sits passively; a weighted plug pulls downward and shifts with movement, so the wearer is more constantly aware of it. This can be pleasurable on its own or used to heighten other sensations during sex.

Some people use weighted plugs for training purposes, working up to heavier weights over time in the same way someone might progress through plug sizes.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Material matters most here. If the weight comes from a steel core or insert, confirm that the outer surface is also body-safe: 100% silicone, borosilicate glass, or solid stainless steel. Avoid plugs where the weighting material is unspecified.

Start lighter than you think you need. The sensation of weight is different from size and can be more intense than expected, particularly during movement.

A secure, well-proportioned flared base is especially important with weighted plugs, as the downward pull puts more stress on the base than a standard plug.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER IT

Cleaning
Care depends on the outer material. All-steel plugs can be boiled or dishwasher-cleaned. Silicone-shelled weighted plugs should be washed with warm water and unscented soap; if non-motorised, boiling is safe.

Drying
Dry thoroughly, particularly around any seam where the weight insert meets the shell, to avoid moisture sitting in crevices.
