Impact Toys
Impact toys are the striking implements used in impact play: floggers, canes, paddles, crops, whips, belts, and birches. Each produces a different sensation profile, from a flogger's broad thud to a cane's sharp line to a whip's concentrated point, and the differences between them are usually more important than what they have in common.
TYPES OF IMPACT TOYS
Flogger
A multi-tailed impact implement with a handle and a fall, typically between eight and forty tails.
Cane
An impact play implement; varies from light rattan to heavy dragon canes. Risk of bruising and skin breaking.
Paddle
A wide, flat, impact instrument, used for spanking.
Crop
An impact toy derived from horsemanship; a short flexible rod with a loop end.
Whip
A long implement that delivers intense impact; requires significant skill. Leather types vary in sting and crack.
Belt
A leather belt used as an impact implement for spanking.
Birch
A bundle of leafy twigs used to strike the body, the implement used in birching.
