Deerskin Flogger
A flogger with tails cut from deerskin, one of the softest and lightest leather options available for impact implements. Deerskin is thinner and more supple than cowhide or suede, and produces an even gentler sensation than suede when used at equivalent swing speed. The impact is almost entirely thud with very little sting.
WHY PEOPLE USE IT
The deerskin flogger is used for the softest end of the flogging sensation spectrum. It is often chosen for sensory play, scenes with low pain tolerance, or extended warm-up before heavier implements. Some people use it purely for the tactile sensation of the tails moving across the skin at slow swing, which is closer to stroking than impact.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Deerskin quality varies. Look for consistent thickness across the tails and clean-cut edges. Very thin deerskin can tear with heavy use. Check the collar attachment carefully, as lighter tails put less stress on the collar than heavier materials but thin leather at the binding point can still fray. Handle balance matters less with a light flogger but should still feel comfortable to hold for extended use.

HOW TO LOOK AFTER IT
Wipe tails lightly after use with a barely damp cloth. Deerskin is delicate and should not be soaked or scrubbed. Allow to dry completely before storing. Hang for storage. Inspect tails before each use for tearing, which deerskin is more prone to than heavier leathers.
